MLK Day of Service Program Agenda
9:00 am - Registration and Breakfast at Stockton University Galloway Campus Center
9:30 am - Opening Remarks
10:00 am to 12:30 pm - Service Projects
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm - End-of-event survey and give-away distribution
Please sign up below to volunteer as an individual or club/group (this will satisfy the club Community Service requirement for the Spring 2025 semester).
Available Service Projects (volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in more than one):
Atlantic Cape Service Projects:
Appreciation/Thank You Cards for Local First Responders - Volunteers will have the opportunity to make appreciation cards and thank you cards for local first responders such as Hamilton Rescue Squad, Mays Landing Fire Department, etc.
Kit Packing for Funny Farm - Volunteers will sort and pack kits of various supplies that will be donated to local rescue farm, Funny Farm, to be distributed to their volunteers this winter.
Stockton University Service Projects:
New Angles for Success - Participants will listen to a short presentation, tour the Stockton Science building and participate in a backyard bass activity.
Reusable T-Shirt Totes Project - Volunteers upcycle donated t-shirts by converting them into interesting and fun tote bags that will then be donated to local food assistance programs.
Dog Bed and Dog Toy Making Activity - Volunteers will assist in making dog beds out of fabric and dog toys out of old t-shirts. All completed dog beds and toys will be donated to a local animal rescue.
Postcard, Button-Making and Collage about Stockton and AC Experiences - Volunteers can participate in three separate stations to make postcards for seniors, button-making and creating a group collage about Stockton and AC experiences.
Stockton Circle K - Various projects
Holiday Themed Card-Making and Door Decor Making - Volunteers will make themed holiday/birthday cards and door decor wreaths for local assisted living facilities.
Hat/Cape Making - Participants will make hospital hats for babies and superhero capes. Materials will be provided to make get well cards. Created items will be donated to local area hospitals.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Making - Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches will be assembled and packaged to be distributed to local food bank agencies.
Alphabet Books - Volunteers will assemble alphabet books that will be distributed to local area non-profit agencies
Feminine Hygiene Drive Collection Project - Donated items at our feminine hygiene drive day-of will be assembled into care packages that will be distributed to those in need.
Saint John’s Hospice Frozen Casseroles - Volunteers will be making casseroles for Saint John's Hospice, a homeless shelter in center city Philadelphia. The shelter accepts frozen pre-cooked casseroles, which they use as needed to feed the homeless.
